Shannon Freshwater

"As a child, she had a deep fear of ghosts, especially after her grandfather's story of casting out an evil spirit. It was hovering above him as he took a bath. This was the same grandfather who built a secret room below his house in order to hide his cache of guns.

Shannon's father didn't hide guns, but instead hid various animal bones below the hard caliche in their backyard. Although the neighborhood children thought Shannon lived on top of a graveyard, the bones didn't stay buried for long before her father dug them up and hung them up for decoration.

Shannon is interested in the mysterious and unknown, and finds inspiration in her own fears of death, decay, ghosts, vortexes, and various other natural and supernatural events. "

I think I need one. RIGHT NOW.

Hot Buttered Apple Cider with Rum
8 servings
For Spiced Butter:
8 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 stick), room temperature
¼ cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cloves
⅛ teaspoon salt
To make:
Half-gallon (64 ounces) all natural apple cider
Spiced Butter cinnamon sticks (optional)
rum or apple brandy (optional)
1. Make spiced butter by combining butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt in a small bowl. Use a plastic spatula to transfer butter mixture to the middle of a 12" x 12" piece of plastic wrap. Fold plastic wrap over butter mixture and shape into a log, twisting ends to seal closed. Refrigerate until ready to use.
2. Bring apple cider to a simmer over medium heat in a large pot, then turn heat to low. Remove spiced butter from plastic wrap and cut into 1-inch pieces. Add to hot cider and stir continuously until all butter is melted. 3. Ladle buttered cider into mug, garnish with cinnamon stick and top with a shot of rum or apple brandy if desired. Serve hot.

Stupid Urban Outfitters

I went on their site to check out their rain boots. No luck there, but I'm digging these things...

I wish I could have this sofa. That persimmon color is killing me.

I wish we had something in our house that rocks. It's soothing. This rocker is a great rocking chair alternative.

I think I could really benefit from one of these.

I love this trinket box. Good for rings and things.

I kinda want this rug for my craft room.

And this one to hang on the wall, maybe adding some embroidery.

This tapestry is tempting...

I know it's for where the wild things are, but this is real cute.

Someone buy me a 'B'?

I know Ashley G.'s drawings are popular, and in fact we even own one, but I'm disappointed to see them here. I've wanted the bottom one for a while since it reminds me so much of my husband.

We could use a new shower curtain. I can't decide between this one

or this one.

This one is way better than the ones they had at Joann's.

Sam did you see this?

Damn. I've been really wanting one of these.

Bah! Urban Outfitters I think you are tainting the craft world. : /
