A minor vent

I don't intend to make this a regular thing...

Lets have a review of laws and common courtesy shall we?

Follow the lines of the lanes. I know they stop from one side of the intersection to the other, and one way streets confuse you even more, but it really isn't that hard. I'm tempted to sneak out in the night and fill in the gap with lines for you.

Use you blinker. It's amazing how little effort it takes for you to let other drivers know where you are going. Frankly, it's not even really for us. It's for YOUR safety.

Pay attention to the right of way. Downtown is full of intersections where one direction has stop signs, and the others do not. Here's a hint- if you see a stop sign next to you, that means you do not have right of way. Therefore when someone in the other direction goes first, they are correct, and you have no right to attempt to bump their car and flip them off.

If I am a pedestrian stopped at a crosswalk waiting to cross, please stop your car to allow me to pass, or at least slow enough that if you are down the street it allows me enough time. I know you don't want to suddenly stop in the street, but you should not be going 50 mph in midtown anyway.

Just because I am in a car does not mean I am not on your side. I'm happy to share the road with you, as long as you share the road with me and observe the rules.

When deciding you do not need to stop or even slow at an intersection where you are supposed to stop, please at least do the courtesy to look in the directions of oncomming traffic so you do not end up under my car because you came speeding down from out of no where.

Let's not ride in groups side by side and block entire lanes while coasting and then glare at a car going around you. You are impeding traffic.

If I stop my car for you, which I am supposed to do, please just cross the street. I don't want to play the 'you go' 'no you go' game.

If you are say, crossing Broadway or 34th st late at night without using a cross walk, please at least help me out and don't wear all black.

Everyone else:

When you are waiting for an elevator and one arrives at your floor please do not rush the elevator when the doors open. Chances are there are people trying to get off the elevator and you aren't saving any time. You did however almost spill your coffee on me.

Please note the direction the elevator is going before boarding.

If you are not handicapped then you should not use the handicapped button for the bathroom doors. You're still getting germs on yourself, and you're breaking the button for anyone who is not able-bodied.

Hitting the crosswalk button for traffic 80 times does not convince the light there is 80 people waiting to cross so it better turn red faster.

Tips for the single ladies

I stumbled across these today and it made me laugh. I like to collect books that are of this vein, like vintage books on marraige, running a household...

Harvey Faircloth's fall collection makes me want to listen to April March and break out the red lipstick (ok and walk around Paris maybe)... I'm so glad red lips are popping back up again.

I like the soft pattern on this pendant. But this fox one would be super cute in a kids room.
