look closely

Have you seen Thomas Doyle's miniatures yet? I saw them on a blog not long ago, and today Etsy has them featured. I really like dioramas, so I'm pretty tickled by these.

falling for fall, as usual

I would totally try to get my little girl to wear these, you know, if I had one. Or maybe I'll try to make it work on an adult girl.

And this cute bag by track and field designs

Back to nature

It so happened I stumbled across a posting on craigslist for the 22nd annual 'Hoes Down Harvest Festival' celebrating rural living in the Capay Valley. If you're interested in learning some farming skills it looks like this is a great opportunity! On Saturday there are workshops I'm pretty intersted in, mostly the canning and urban agriculture ones. There's also a farmers market, and contra dancing, and the proceeds go to good causes. And on Sunday there is a home brewing class taught by our very own friend Blair Howard, who as a wedding gift made a ton of delicious beer for our wedding! He really know's what he's doing, and I'm hoping to maybe take his class... The festival is October 3rd and 4th, and you can even camp overnight if you want.

2 years 5 months

And I still look at wedding stuff. I hear I'm not he only one.

I love this J. Crew dress. It's simple, elegant and still traditional. And seriously shouldn't every dress have pockets?

Oh shoot all of these are so cute. (I'm mostly in love with that damn skirt) Found on

This purse is just adorable. I love both the colors and texture. Would have been great this summer.

I obviously can't get this color out of my head... Bianca-and-Family by the way this site has some amazingly cute things especially for kids. There is an English option too. Look at this bedroom! I love the left picture.

I'd put this collage in that room too. Audrey Smith

little bits of heaven

a whole delicious cupcake blog? dangerous!

Step One

I'm excited to say, I've finally thought of a simple name for my future company. Well, I'm hoping it's not taken when it becomes official with the county and such. I've registered my etsy name and I'm looking forward to designing business cards and seeing how this all develops. More to come...

so many good finds and it's only 9:30 am

Maybe it's making up for my lame morning of oversleeping and wearing a shirt with the arms a little too snug and managing to tie a messy knot into my hair with ribbon and wearing one of those pairs of underwear you really should just throw away because every time you wear them you hate them...

Enough about me. Go check out artist morgan blair. I love her style. And I have a special place in my heart for grandma related things like this drawing.

birthday list

These just might make the cut. How fun! Seen on

school daze

I'm hoping to get into a sewing class this fall at the local community college. In my mind I like to envision myself showing up in classic school girl style. Reality is the class begins at 8am Saturday morning so I'll be glad to bathe and wear clothes I didn't sleep in.

I love peter pan collars. This one is dainty and summery. YeYe

Still being drawn to plaid these days

And I'm loving this tote

So the state fair starts this Friday. Anyone going? I'm as usual disappointed with the attractions and entertainment. Though I might be into seeing Otis Day on Wednesday. Plus of course the food and colors and carnival people watching. Here's a link to my favorite photo from last year:

I should start going to the smaller county fairs. I don't know why I always miss those. Anyone know of any coming up?

I'm really liking the details on this dresser. I like to mix simple lines + fussy. Seems like a great deal. I'd probably paint it teal, but the aged creaminess is nice too. Only $45
Done just to style the photo but this does make me think- how great would it be to have a camper with a removable wall? Pop off or fold up to enjoy the views! Maybe when eating lunch, not using the restroom...

dear golden vintage on etsy

I would have loved to have worn these on my wedding day.

If I'm not allowed to have it you should have it

Not sure what's up with the back pillows if they just need fluffing... I love the shape and it's the perfect shade for our living room. And cat/party friendly vinyl.*sigh* $150

What's with the patch? Is it removable? Otherwise very cute, and also matching our house. $85 obo
